Stefania Arzamendia
I was tired and bored of therapy taking too long, the lack of advice I was receiving when I needed guidance, the coldness of the therapists and having to go on and on about my story only to be asked how it all made me feel…so I decided to do therapy MY way. Therapy-like, but sometimes, telling my clients where it’s at instead of waiting ages until they figure it out because it helps them, saves them time, and gives them a taste of possibility as their lives start improving.
Like many of us, my path has been marked by profound challenges – moments of deep suffering, anxiety, and encounters with abuse that threatened to define me. Yet these experiences, painful as they were, became the cornerstones of my transformation. Through my healing journey, I discovered that our deepest wounds often hold the seeds of our greatest growth. Today, I stand in profound gratitude for these challenges, recognizing them as catalysts that awakened me to greater consciousness and understanding.
I received my undergraduate degree in B.Sc. in Psychology from the University of Barcelona and I have a M.A. in Integrative Humanistic Psychotherapy from the Erich Fromm Institute of Barcelona. I also trained with Dr. Gabor Maté in Compassionate Inquiry, a massive part of my approach within my therapy practice and personal life. I’ve also earned my certificate as a Holistic Health Coach from the Academy of Healing Nutrition in London, which I integrate into my therapeutic practice as the mind and body are interconnected and we cannot speak of the mind without touching on the way we nourish our body.
I am a trauma-informed therapist with a person-centred approach that is grounded in Gestalt therapy, Transactional Analysis, Compassionate Inquiry, as well as somatic healing tecniques such as TRE.
A big part of my studies includes spending time with the indigenous people of Brazil and Colombia, learning their ways, and so naturally, a big influence in my interventions includes traditional ancient techniques rooted in nature.
